Agent Chat
Talk to your AI agent directly from the Aerostack dashboard. Instead of connecting your agent to Telegram, Discord, or running it in a terminal, connect it to your Aerostack Workspace and chat from the dashboard.
Why Agent Chat? Your agent already connects to your workspace for tools. Agent Chat adds a conversation layer on top — same connection, now with real-time messaging, team access, approvals, and activity monitoring.
How It Works
- You type a message in the Agent Chat panel on the dashboard
- Your workspace delivers it to your connected agent in real-time
- Your agent responds — the reply appears instantly in the dashboard
- Your whole team can do the same, each in their own conversation
Why Not Just Use Telegram or Discord?
| Telegram / Discord | Aerostack Agent Chat | |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | Bot token + webhook + platform config | Already connected via workspace |
| Who can use it | Anyone in the group chat | Team members you invite |
| Conversations | One big thread, everyone mixed together | Separate per person |
| Token cost | ~63K input tokens per message | ~4K input tokens per message |
| Tool approvals | Reply in chat or wait for timeout | Dashboard UI — approve, reject, edit, discuss |
| Activity monitoring | None | Real-time feed with risk levels |
| Media support | Platform-dependent | Direct upload from dashboard |
Agent Chat uses approximately 50% fewer tokens than Telegram or Discord because each conversation starts fresh with only the relevant context. See Token Savings for the full breakdown.
What You Get
Real-Time Chat
Send messages and get responses instantly. See typing indicators while your agent is working, including which tool it is currently using.
Separate Conversations
Each conversation is independent. Start a new conversation for a new topic — no leftover context from previous chats bleeding in.
Team Access
Invite your team to the workspace. Each person gets their own conversations with the agent. No cross-talk, no shared history. See Team Access.
Tool Approvals
When your agent wants to do something risky — delete a file, run a command, call an external API — it asks for permission first. Approve, reject, or edit the request right from the dashboard. See Approvals.
Activity Monitor
See everything your agent does in real-time. File writes, commands, API calls, deployments — all categorized by risk level. See Activity Monitor.
Media Support
Send images and files to your agent through the chat. Your agent can read and process them as part of the conversation.
Supported Agents
Agent Chat works with any agent that connects to your workspace:
| Agent | Connection |
|---|---|
| OpenClaw | Recommended — full support via Aerostack Bridge |
| Claude Code | Via Aerostack Bridge (MCP) |
| Cursor | Via workspace gateway URL |
| Any MCP client | Via workspace gateway URL |
OpenClaw is recommended because the Aerostack Bridge provides the deepest integration — real-time chat, approvals, activity monitoring, and media support all work out of the box.
Quick Start
Create a Workspace
If you do not have one yet, go to the Admin Dashboard and create a workspace. Add the MCP servers, skills, and functions your agent needs.
Connect Your Agent
Follow the Connect OpenClaw guide to link your agent to the workspace. It takes about 2 minutes.
Open Agent Chat
In the dashboard, click Agent Chat in the sidebar. You will see your connected agent. Click it to start chatting.
Send Your First Message
Type a message and press Enter. Your agent receives it, processes it using your workspace tools, and responds in real-time.
